Celebrating our Qualifio values – Fun, creativity & togetherness
Our co-founder and Chairman of the Board, Olivier Simonis, will say to all newcomers at Qualifio:
“The most important thing here is that you fit in with, live by and support our values and our culture.”
So it’s fair to say that at Qualifio our 6 values are at the heart of everything that we do:
In this 2-part series, we’re going to be taking a closer look at each of these values, at how we put them in place at work and what they mean for us in our day-to-day lives. Today we’ll be focusing on 3 of these values: fun, creativity and togetherness.
Curious about our other 3 values? Make sure you check out this article about our values of empowerment, commitment and transparency!
Let’s dive in!
FUN
We take having fun very seriously! At Qualifio, having fun is the ability to let go of work for a bit, to kick back and have a laugh together, to enjoy each other’s company outside of meetings and without talking shop.
“There are no dull days when you’re part of the Qualifio Team! You will always find a colleague to share a good laugh with, a board game evening or a beer after work!”
– Camille Compté – Studio Project Manager, Qualifio (Louvain-la-Neuve)
We pay particular attention to this value by organising a wide range of actions and activities outside of our working hours, both by our Office Happiness Manager, Ariane, and by individuals, such as skiing or beach seminars, board game evenings, drinks at the café opposite the office after work, plancha lunches on the terrace during the summer, etc.
“We spend a big part of our week at work, so we might as well make it a place where we don’t have to be too serious while being highly ambitious and focused. Every bit of fun in the office makes me happy! And that doesn’t mean we can’t tell each other things that are sometimes a little more difficult.”
– Quentin Paquot – CEO, Qualifio (Louvain-la-Neuve)
We all eat together at lunchtime and we love doing sports together. It’s not uncommon for a Qualifio team to enter a race or to embark on a long bike ride together, the more the merrier! We also try to make our offices as friendly and as welcoming as possible, so that everyone feels at home and relaxed. Don’t be surprised if you spot a fluffy white tail under a desk, pets are welcome (check out the Pets stories section on our Instagram page)! And there isn’t a dress code, so you can wear whatever makes you feel comfortable! A suit and no shoes? Be our guest!
“Working at Qualifio ensures that every day is different because you are constantly faced with new challenges, which makes it a fun place to work and motivates you to face each day with motivation.”
– Pablo Gomez de Castro – Customer Success Strategist, Qualifio (Madrid)
TOGETHERNESS
For this value, we like to remind ourselves of the age-old adage:
“alone we go faster but together we go further”
We make supporting each other, through the good and the bad times, one of our top priorities. We all share common values and professional identity and we strive to have a good time together!
“I’ll be there for you” could have been Qualifio’s theme tune! I know I can count on my team; there’ll always be someone there, ready to help. For example, we launched a brand new website in December 2021, and it was the first time we managed such a vast project. We were stressed and, of course, behind schedule, but in the end, we delivered a fantastic website, and it was a real team project.”
– Anastasia Babatzikis – Digital Marketing Officer, Qualifio (Louvain-la-Neuve)
Our offices have always been spread across Europe and a lot of us work from home at least part of the time, so keeping in touch and maintaining a supportive and fun work environment has always been a challenge that we’ve loved to tackle. And the past couple of years have certainly put this value to the test!
“Qualifio is the first job in which I really feel part of a group/community! With many colleagues, we always try to gather together after work for a drink, board games, bowling or movie nights. Part of my job as well is making sure everyone feels included & happy. Here are some examples of projects we have organised at Qualifio that represent our value “togetherness”: walking challenge, yoga classes at lunch time, Friday Plancha during summer time, Have an impact week at Xmas etc.”
– Ariane Dubois – Office Happiness Manager, Qualifio (Louvain-la-Neuve)
There are loads of examples of how we put togetherness at the heart of everything that we do:
- We take onboarding our new recruits very seriously, regardless of where they’ll be based, they spend 3 days in our head office and get to meet and talk to everyone, as making them feel welcome and part of the Qualifio family is a big deal for us!
- We organise seminars and team meet-ups that are a great way of bringing everyone together in a cool location! We even managed to organise online ones when none of us could travel!
- We’ve raised money for charity by donating our time together, in February this year we walked 1500 km in a month!
CREATIVITY
Both our platforms, Qualifio Engage and Qualifio Loyalty, encourage the brands that we work with to be as creative as possible. So we owe it to our customers to pursue creativity in everything that we do.
“As a Customer Success Strategist, I am often asked by my clients to brainstorm on how they could use Qualifio to operate their marketing and/or acquisition campaigns. These moments of sharing are challenging and make me reflect a lot to bring them creative ideas to use Qualifio at its best. For me, it is very important to offer my clients innovative ideas for them to stand out!”
– Justine Delieux – Customer Success Strategist, Qualifio (Louvain-la-Neuve)
And we don’t expect creativity just from our design and marketing teams – we are constantly seeking out creative ways of approaching our work, regardless of the department. Our co-founders created the company in a basement while drinking a beer! And their entrepreneurial and creative spirit is still alive and kicking, over ten years later.
“Creativity at Qualifio and in the HR team involves knowing how to adapt and constantly questioning ourselves. What will interest our teams and our candidates? To recruit and grow teams, you have to know and accept that you’ll need to constantly reinvent yourself. Keep an open mind and remain pragmatic to move forward!”
– Aurélien Berhin – Head of Human Ressources & General Administration, Qualifio (Louvain-la-Neuve)
As we strive to keep Qualifio as relevant and innovative as possible, being creative means approaching problems we encounter in a slightly different way. We like to think outside the box and try things that we haven’t done before.
“In the Product team, we strive to always find the most creative yet pragmatic solutions to the problems our customers are facing. It requires a great amount of creativity to define the simplest interfaces that can be understood and used by thousands of people. But creativity isn’t just used in designing experiences, but is also highly required in the documentation we write or support solutions we provide.”
– Olivier de Lamotte – Head of Product, Qualifio (Louvain-la-Neuve)
We like to apply creativity not only when designing our platforms and decorating our offices, but also when selling our products, organising our meetings and deciding the next fun event we’re going to organise! We’re constantly looking to question and challenge ourselves to do more and be better. We take nothing for granted and never rest on our laurels.
“I chose this job to be constantly challenged, to start from scratch every month with a new target, new customers and new problems. b, proposing new content and hoping that it will hit the mark. The very basis of our profession, which is prospection, is in fact creativity, finding the right formula, the right example that will make a prospect stop on our message/email/call and agree to discuss with us. Creativity is essential in our work as sales people!”
– Antoine Le Sage – Head of Sales, Qualifio (Paris)
